THE THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS OF A BUDDHIST AMONG BAPTISTS
Reverend Father Antonio Hernández, O.M.D., A.B.F.
Founder of the Independent Order of American Buddhist Fathers

YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SEGREGATED
...I can envisage the lavender driver's licenses with "Godless Fairy" or "Deviant Dyke" watermarked into them. It would not surprise me if I began seeing "STRAIGHTS ONLY" signs.

As a survivor of the days, I've often wondered how many people recall the years of black segregation. That's what has now happened to the American gay community. If people ever thought the equal protection and anti-establishment clauses were at loggerheads, it's definitely the case when it comes to the American gay community and gay marriage. Only in the era of black segregation has the world seen the white man scrambling ass-over-tit to repress someone on this scale.

What crime, what infringement upon rights, what social ruination can result from allowing us (GAYS, DUMMY!) to get married? There is an answer: NONE. To do what one wishes within the law is no more an infringement on someone else's moral sense than it is on their rights. It is Constitutionally guaranteed, or supposed to be. Yet that is how fascists have twisted the legal code and managed to found a latter-day gay witch hunt. Consider how we are being segregated; these two topics occur by default, before we even start:

1. Anti-establishment- this is law regarding the separation of church and state, the one that says America will never establish a state church. Problem: can anyone say right-wing-hompohobic-hypocrite-Christian-fascist-bible-thumping-moron?
2. Equal protection- this is self-explanatory, and so is GAY SEGREGATION. Problem: the two don't mix. (They're not supposed to mix. The law actually says so. And my mom was the Queen of Romania.)
Pretty lousy record America has there; the entire Constitution is denied to gay people. You see, it doesn't work for gay people, it doesn't apply. Gay people MUST live under conservative right-wing Christianity (preferably Southern Baptist or some form of rabid Anglicanism). So, a state church DOES exist, for gay people. Also, gay people MUST live without equal protection. If society has its way with us, soon we'll be forced to register with the DMV.

I can envisage the lavender driver's licenses with "Godless Fairy" or "Deviant Dyke" watermarked into them. It would not surprise me if I began seeing "STRAIGHTS ONLY" signs.

Our government is telling gay people we're lucky that they let us live at all. We have responded: there is now a white ribbon campaign, symbolizing gay equal protection under the law and the gay right to marry. I'm pinning one on every coat I own- it'll nestle in with the red ribbon (for AIDS awareness), the rainbow planet Earth (for World Gay Pride Day), and the pink triangle (an older gay equal rights symbol, being the patch Hitler put on our WWII counterparts in the camps). Hell, gays invented the ribbon/slogan thing. Remember SILENCE=DEATH?
I doubt anyone will notice. The Chief Fascist in the White House has ensured a predominance of yellow ribbons these days. And not only that: there is a homophobe manual to end all manuals. It's a book called "50 Billion Ways the Liberal Bastard Judges are Acquiescing to Home-wrecking Fags" (or whatever it's called). As if that were not enough, this book was written and put out by the Director of Monkey-minded Family Services (or whatever it is). The book is going to be placed into the hands of delegates, as Bush continues to shoehorn his Homophobes-only Amendment proposal.

A lawyer whose name escapes me writes a great column for our newspaper. I like what he wrote about gay marriage: he asked how gay people could destroy "holy matrimony" any more than straight people already have. That made me laugh, then it depressed me. Morals really are gone, and they have been for decades. There are welfare families going back generations. Taxpayers happily foot the bills for all the unwed mothers. Schools are filled with parents as well as half-siblings: same mother, 15 different fathers. Oh, and don't forget taxpayers pick up tabs for the child-abandoning male whores too. And I'm just getting warmed up....

You can be adulterous, if straight - just be sure you give birth to that passel of babies or else get divorced and break your children's hearts. Be sure to have a mistress that you can leave later. Be sure you run and hide well, look out for Number One. Taxpayers will keep you, care for your children by proxy, ensure more welfare generations. Oh yes, all this plus "holy" matrimony will always be yours for the asking.
Just as long as you ain't queer.

This is not a current issue that boiled up like a mysterious swamp gas. In his exhaustive 1995 book "Homosexuality in History", Colin Spencer spelled out the 'gay agenda' clearly and beautifully: "[The gay community demands] equality from the law and... safeguards against discrimination..."
Spencer concludes with the ugly, barbaric truth about our world: "...no... human rights treaty explicitly distinguishes the rights and freedoms of [gay] people...."

Explicit distinction (the good kind): it's what the law is supposed to do for everyone. I know segregation and discrimination first hand- many times over. I've written about my father, who is a black Hispanic Jew, and I remember what society was like when I was a kid. So does he. We always agreed that any form of segregation would be a sure sign of a new era of barbarism. It startles me each time I think how the black community has been one of the most fiercely homophobic groups.

My last article on this sad subject here at "Hackwriters" (vid. "A More Perfect Union") failed to mention that we lost this fight before we ever got into the ring. Nearly every state in the union already has some 'homophobe clause' in its state constitution, and legislators couldn't change those laws if they wanted. For that matter, there is dismal anti-gay sentiment raging around the globe. America wouldn't want to go round setting bad examples, now, would it?

So my big idea, for an amendment to the Constitution that bolsters the other Amendments, is just so much cesium vapor. No one will ever let that issue reach the floor, because it would mean the end of homophobia, which is so much fun for the fascist right wing! That's the whole idea: forget rapists, murderers, pedophile teachers and pederast preachers. The gay community is the Den of Satan! No politico in his right mind, no matter how tiny that mind might be, will ever champion a fraction of our gay-equality fight. "Legislator" is but "presbyter" writ large.

Looks like we had best fight the good fight now... or start memorizing the lyrics to "Mammy" and get used to these chains.
