A
dear friend named Debra Lynn Scott aka Dee Kee took me in her Mini
- Cooper to this historic little town. When we arrived, we
checked in Room 224 of the Mount View Hotel & Spa. This
hotel has been around since 1914 and is listed in the National Registry
of Historic Places. This landmark hotel combines the intimacy
of a bed and breakfast with the luxury of a boutique hotel.

During our weekend
stay, the various nightclubs that are a short walking distance from
the hotel had many jazz bands playing their smooth somber rhythm &
blues sounds that would echo in the serene Calistoga night. Some
of the nightclubs and bars that are a welcome spot for tourists are
the Hydro Bar & Grill, Suzies and the Brewery.
| You
will find a crowd of partying people that are a mixture of tourists
and locals having a great time together. Dee Kee and I lavished
in the mud bath at our hotel and when we were finished, we ended
it with a relaxing massage. The hotel also provides a heated
swimming pool and a luscious Jacuzzi in which tourists will take
advantage of, before retiring into their quaint hotel room.
A taste of Mexico can be found in Calistoga at a restaurant called
Taqueria Puerto Vallarta located at 1473 Lincoln Avenue in
Calistoga. |

The food is authentic
Mexican food that will completely satisfy the pallet. A right
mixture of spices and salsa to give a taste that you will never forget.
Dee Kee went to a local delicatessen near our hotel and picked up various
types of vegetables, meats and we had a wonderful picnic at Pioneer
Park and if you're into people watching, this is the perfect park for
that. The streets of Calistoga are filled with people that are
checking out the souvenir shops, bookstores, and the various cafes.
If you want relaxation and fun, go to Calistoga. If you want to
dance and have a great time, go to Calistoga! Calistoga is a hidden
paradise in Napa Valley!
